Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Mike Erwin officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Visitation: The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road, in Beaver Dam on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m.
Marilyn Neuman, age 89, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Hillside Manor.
Marilyn Kroll Neuman was born August 28, 1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Later her family moved to Beaver Dam in 1942. Marilyn graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1942. She worked at the Monarch Range Company during the war, where she met her future husband, Le Roy Neuman. They were married on August 26, 1944.
Marilyn was the mother of Patricia (John) Kluz of Beaver Dam, Terry (Julie) Neuman of Beaver Dam, Connie (Greg) Knapp of Pardeeville, Jim (Deb) Neuman of Middleton, and Lori (Jim) Coughlin of Mayville. Surviving also is daughter-in-law, MaryAnn Neuman, 13 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
At St. Michael’s Church, Marilyn was a Girl Scout leader and a Den Mother. She was a clerk at The Model, part-time for ten years. Marilyn was also a Welcome Wagon Hostess for two years. She worked the service cart for St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary. She was a secretary of the Spring Valley Homemakers and for AARP. Marilyn was a member of St Patrick’s Women’s Society and a prayer warrior for Aglow. In later years she was active in the Senior Center, where she was a member of the writing class, book club, and the Third Street Band. She also enjoyed playing cards there. Marilyn and Roy were members of the John Deere Retirees, called the Spitfires in Horicon.
In earlier years, Marilyn was a member of St. Michael’s Choir and after moving to DeClark Street, a member of St. Patrick’s Choir. She and Pat Davis sang karaoke once a month for the Beaver Dam Care Center Residents.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Le Roy in 2000 and her son, Terry in 2007, a granddaughter, Rebecca Taylor and a sister, Charmaine Barnett.
Marilyn will be remembered for her smile, her enthusiasm, her friendliness, and mostly, her love of God.
