Martin O. Griepentrog

Martin O. Griepentrog, 97 years old, of N7219 Morris Road, Horicon, WI passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the home of his daughter in Theresa, WI. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner with the Rev. Richard Boeck, Jr. officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner. Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery, Browns Corner.Martin was born on August 30, 1917 in the township of Hubbard to Otto & Minnie (Luebke) Griepentrog. He was united in marriage to Bernice Manthey on September 15, 1946 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Mayville, WI. Martin, together with his family, farmed in the township of Hubbard.Martin was a lifelong member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Browns Corner, WI, where he served on various committee’s. Martin enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds and the Brewers.Martin is survived by his children: Donna (Jerry) Jacak of Theresa, Diane (Chet) Ward of Horicon, Du Wayne (Lynn) Griepentrog of Horicon, Marilyn Wilson of Madison, and Karen (Scott) Goldbeck of Eau Claire; his sister-in-law Joan Griepentrog of Mayville; grandchildren: Jennifer (Phil) Bishop, Janel (Brian) Rieman, Tim (Tricia) Ward, Jeremy Ward, Dan (Kate) Ward, Cari (Jeff) Raddemann, Bart Griepentrog, Lindsay (Riley) Hale, Michael (friend Nicole) Griepentrog, Danielle (fiancé Jake) Wilson, Dane (fiancée Rachel) Goldbeck, Briana Goldbeck; 12 great great grandchildren; and one great great grandson, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bernice in 1989; 2 sons: Rodney and Dean; his brothers: Raymond, Harold, Wilbert, and Gordon; his sisters: Frances Schellpfeffer, Irene Schaumburg and Phyllis KuehlMemorials may be directed to St. John Ev.
