



Mary G. Cronin, 92, formerly of Beaver Dam and Portage passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home in Ripon. Mary was born the daughter of John and Olga (Goeggerle) Noerz on December 14, 1925 in Beaver Dam. She was a 1943 graduate of Edgewood High School and also from the Milwaukee Business Institute. Mary was employed as a social worker for Dodge County Social Services until her retirement in 1987. She was married to John R. Cronin. Mary was a former member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. After her retirement, she worked part time with ARC in Columbia County for 15 years. Mary enjoyed boating and golfing as well as photography. Mary is survived by her husband, John of Saddle Ridge in Portage; her children: Margaret “Peggy” Cronin of Madison and Timothy Cronin of Portage; two grandsons: Colby Carr of Denver, CO and Christopher Cronin of San Francisco, CA; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marcella Spicer. A visitation will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, July 27, 2018 from Noon until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Michael Erwin will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
