


Mary Jane Leigl, 90 years old, of Mayville, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Matthew’s of Horicon, surrounded by her family.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville, with the Rev. Father Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Mayville.Mary Jane was born on May 18, 1926 to Raphael and Lillian (Petersen) Caine in Milwaukee. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Grade School, a 1944 graduate of Mayville High School, and a 1946 graduate of Dodge County Normal School. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Philip Leigl, Jr. on August 4, 1951 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. Mary Jane was employed at Purity Cheese Co. for 22 years. She also taught school for 7 years and worked for St. Mary’s Hot Lunch program for 15 years.Mary Jane was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and reading. Mary Jane especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.Mary Jane is survived by: her children- Kathleen (David) Lynch of Waunakee, Thomas (Debra) Leigl of Brownsville, Michael R. Leigl of Van Dyne, Patrick G. Leigl of Appleton, and Patricia Leigl of Little Chute; her grandchildren- Julie (Jeff Cluever) Lynch, Laurie (Robert Fulkerson) Lynch, Katie (Miguel) Zaragoza, Jessica (Ryan) Toellner, Danica (Brian) Lause, Jason (Julie) Leigl, Ryan (Colleen) Leigl, Anthony (Andrea) Leigl, Mary (Nathan) Reilly, Patrick J. Leigl, Michael T. Leigl, Megan (special friend Dane Barnes) Leigl, and Ian (Meghan) Leigl; great grandchildren- Marleyna, Jackson, Alysia, Owen, Charlotte, Willis, Carson, Cole, Abigail, Madelyn, Emily, Jack, and Andrew; other relatives and friends.Mary Jane is preceded in death by: her parents and her husband Philip.
