Mildred “Ruthie” Rowland, age 57, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

There will be a memorial gathering for Ruthie at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow, beginning at 7:00 PM. John R. Leiting will be the celebrant.

Mildred Ruth Rowland was born on October 7, 1951 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Roger L. and Mildred H. (Taylor) Rowland. She was an alumnus of Southern Mississippi University. Ruthie”s passion throughout her life was art. Through her art, she brought beauty to the world. She loved animals, had a wonderful sense of humor and she enjoyed reading. Ruthie was devoted to her husband, Rick. She will be missed by all her friends and family.

Survivors include her son, Josh Jones of Lucedale, MS, her husband, Rick Barnes of Fox Lake, and her two brothers, Hal T., and his wife Gloria, Rowland of Houston, TX and Zach Rowland of Starkville, MS. Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Ruthie”s name to the Dodge County Humane Society, N6839 State Road 26 Juneau, WI 53039, 920-386-0000.
