Milton E. “Doc” Coyer, age 92, of Horicon, died on Friday, June 7, 2013 at his home.
The visitation for Doc will be at Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The service will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Elaine Gerth officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon with military honors provided by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.
Milton Earl Coyer was born on February 15, 1921 in Juneau, Wisconsin to Harvey R. and Ella A. (Reich) Coyer. On June 11, 1943 he was united in marriage with Margaret L. Pritchett in Dacaville, California. Doc was member of several organizations in Horicon which include the Horicon American Legion, Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOF), National Association of Post Masters (NAPM), and the Lions Club. He was a superintendent of Sunday school at Zion Lutheran Church for 10 years and was a World War II Veteran. Doc was the Post Master at the Horicon Post Office for over forty years.
Survivors are his son, Peter (Irene) Coyer of Bowler; three granddaughters, Michelle (Jay) Osterberg of Newberry, MI, Melissa (Michael) Suehring of Caroline, and Cathleen (Mike) Baxter of Portland, OR; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Betty Cedarstrom.
If desired, memorials may be made to Our Savior”s Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.
