Monica A. Notheis, age 60, of Madison, Wisconsin and Galena, Illinois, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at her home in Madison.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary”s Catholic Church, 406 Franklin Street, Galena, IL 61036.

Monica A. Notheis was born on April 9, 1949 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Anthony and Rose (Czyza) Notheis. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School as the Salutatorian of the class of 1967 and later graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1971. Monica was currently employed as a Grant Specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. She had many friends who will miss her greatly and she loved her dogs and cats.

Monica is survived by her cousins, Maria Beck and Lucy Dale of Illinois, Maxine Waggener of California, Antoinette Johnson of Oregon, Michael Kress and Mark Kress of Washington, and locally, John Engler of Beaver Dam. She was preceded in death by her parents.
