Dear Peter and Drew: Our mothers’ friendship was a very special thing that also circled back through the Pedersen and Adams connection and Phelps High School. I like to think that when Howard Adams joined the Mayville High School faculty a year or so after Nina Pedersen met Dotte Bernhardt in the mid-1940’s it was Nina’s influence that brought them together. Our parents supported each other from opposite corners of Wisconsin Avenue and I will forever remember your mother’s kindness when I needed extra encouragement. So sorry not to have been able to attend the memorial service, but am thinking of you while visualizing Nina's and Dotte’s strong souls reunited – probably even now plotting to influence global stock markets just as soon as they compare notes on the latest crossword puzzle from the Heavenly Journal Sentinel.

I lived on the same street as Mr & Mrs Gloede. They were both well respected by neighbors and also by the community. I was a student of Mrs Gloede in her typing class. No computers then, just electric typewriters. She was a great teacher and I still use my typing skills I learned in her class from 1970. Mrs Gloede made my life better by teaching me to use all my fingers when typing. Thank you Mrs Gloede and deepest regrets to her family on their loss.

Saddened to hear about Nina's passing. I taught with Nina for only two years but she was always there to help me through those early years. It amazed me how she remembered my kids and what they were doing, etc. I am sorry I didn't get to visit with her late this summer. She often mentioned you both, Drew and Peter. We will be out of town and sorry to miss offering my condolences. Your mom and dad were admirable people.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs Gloede. She was my accounting teacher in the mid 80's. She was a great teacher. She was responsible for me going to college. I was the first in my family to do so. Years later, I reflect on her gentle encouragement for me to see a different possibility for myself, and I am filled with so much gratitude that I got to have this wonderful woman as a mentor to me. She touched so many students over the years. Her legacy lives on in all of us. God Bless you all during this time of sadness.

My sympathy to the family. Mrs Gloede was a very respected teacher that carried me into the working world with knowledge and confidence. As obituary states we could use a lot more like her for today's children. I've been in a professional occupation since high school and owe a lot of that to her teachings. She will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

What a lovely lady your mom was. We will never forget her. When she recalled how prompt Wally was delivering the paper and recalled promptness when he collected for them also. She was a devout member of St. Johns and never missed the opportunity to share, recall, and ask how everything was going. She cared deeply of her family and her profession as a teacher - I didn't live in Mayville so did not have her as a teacher. But she dearly loved and remembered her students as she shared those stories. Enjoyed having conversations with her and wanted to keep current with what was going on in the Dorcas Society. Can only add that she was a beautiful loving, Christian woman.

It was a honor to get to know Nina during my time as pastor at St. John's. She was an outstanding Christian woman and I look forward to a happy reunion in heaven because of Jesus Christ!

Beautiful obituary for a great lady. She will be missed, but we know she is watching from Heaven in the days ahead for Brian and Nicole's wedding and the birth of her first great grandchild. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Gloede family.
