Otto Raymond Mertz

Otto Raymond Mertz, age 92, of the Tn. of Trenton, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Visitation for Otto will be held on Friday, November 23rd from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12 p.m. (noon) with Pastor Mike Giebink officiating. Burial will take place at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in Tn. of Trenton. Otto was born the son of William and Elizabeth (Gernetzke) Mertz on November 11, 1926 in Hustisford, Wisconsin. On November 14, 1959 he was united in marriage with Marlene Mielke in Fox Lake. Otto was employed by the Kirsh Foundry in Beaver Dam for 29 years. Otto loved to garden and to go fishing. He was a mini inventor, and a master “putz-er”. Otto enjoyed spending time with his family the most. He will be missed by his daughters; Nancy Mertz of Beaver Dam and Linda Mertz of Pardeeville, 2 sisters; Mabel Schumacher and Vida Stueber both of Fond du Lac, 1 brother; Ervin (Ruth) Mertz of West Bend. He is further survived by other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Otto was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marlene in 1998, 1 infant son, sisters and brothers; Della, Hilda, Iva, Erna, Mae, Lyle and Rohen.
