Raymond “Happy” C. Schultz, age 88 of Oshkosh, has gone home to where he wanted to be, in Jesus arms. Ray died peacefully with his family at his side on Monday July 7, 2008 at his daughter”s home. Ray was born in the Town of Elba on February 29, 1920 the son of Henry and Ida (Goss) Schultz. Raymond attended Bethlehem Lutheran School in Hustisford, WI. Raymond married Dorothy Mae Huber on April 11, 1953. Raymond was a hard working herdsman farmer in the Dodge county areas and then moved to Grundy Farms in Oshkosh from the years of 1974 to 1991 when Ray finally retired at the age of 71. Raymond was a member of Martin Luther Evangelical Church in Oshkosh.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy, seven children, Alvin Schultz of Brownsville, Richard (Sue) Schultz of Chilton, Linda (John) Barthels of Oshkosh, Wanda (Doug) De Witt of Winneconne, Karen (Roger) Boe of Oshkosh, Randy Schultz of Oshkosh, and Roxanne (Mike) Church of Oshkosh, 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Danny (Deb), Jenny (Jason), Tiffany, Sheila (Jonathan), Jeremy, Adam, Marissa, Justin, and Ryan, 10 great-grandchildren, along with step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ray is also survived by his best friend that was always at his side, Snoopy the dog. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister, Edward (Lorraine), Harvey (Erna), and Ruth (Elmer) Czoschke, a special step great-grandson, Jasper, along with other special family and friends.
Raymond”s funeral service will be held Friday July 11, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Salem Lutheran Church, 105 Juneau Rd, Lowell, WI 53557 with Rev. Jeffrey Berg from Oshkosh Martin Luther Church officiating. Burial will be at the Lowell Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Salem Lutheran Church on Friday July 11, 2008 from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
Raymond”s family would like to express their deep sincere gratitude to Aurora Medical Hospital and their staff for all the patience and great kindness they showed with Ray. Deep appreciation to Dr Thomas J. Lewandowski (cardiologist) and his nurses for all their special kindness to Ray in this time of getting old and to the staff of Hospice for their daily tasks of keeping Ray in comfort leading up to his last days on earth.
