Raymond L. Beske, 82, of Burnett passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his home.Raymond was born the son of Albert A. and Freda M. (Baum) Beske on September 24, 1935 in Burnett. He was a graduate of Burnett High School. Ray was married to Lorraine C. Wendt in June of 1965 in Dickeyville, WI. He was employed with John Deere Horicon Works until his retirement. Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching Wisconsin sports. In his younger years, Ray enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a good cook and enjoyed eating ground cherries and morel mushrooms. Ray enjoyed listening to polka as well as the “Barn Show.”Ray is survived by his children: Barry (Sue Keller) Beske of Burnett, Ryan (Brenda Cebery) Beske of Burnett, John (Linda) Tomes of Arizona, and Suzanne (Steve Setzer) Zastrow of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren: James (Sara) Tomes of Arizona, Stephanie (Jeff) Hemiller of Arizona, Bryce (Lisa) Tomes of West Virginia, Julie (John) Taylor of Ripon, Eric (Jenette) Zastrow of Needah, Amanda (Bill) Johnson of Mayville, David Beske of Fox Lake, and Alyssa Beske of Randolph; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Carolyn Beske of Muskego; his ex-son-in-law, Roy Zastrow; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lorraine in 1979; his brothers: Harvey, Martin, Albert, Robert, Milton, Eugene, and Arnit; his sister, Marion Blasdel; and his niece, Darlene Gonzales. A visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, township of Theresa on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at the church. Rev. Jon A. Learman will officiate. Interment will take place at North Burnett Cemetery, Burnett, WI with military honors conducted by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.
