Raymond L. Soboleski

Raymond L. “Carp” Soboleski, 79, of Beaver Dam passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam with the Father Vince Kobida celebrating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, April 5th from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Raymond was born the son of Leo and Genevieve (Kutcher) Soboleski on November 13, 1934 in Beaver Dam, WI. He was united in marriage to Lois A. Robertson on February 11, 1956 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Beaver Dam. Raymond was employed at Metal Fab in Beaver Dam for 34 years. He then went to work at Weyenberg Shoe Factory until his retirement. Raymond was a Beaver Dam firefighter for 32 years, where he retired as Captain. He loved to hunt and fish, always knowing where the hot spots were.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Lois of Beaver Dam; 4 children, Donna (Ralph) Woodke of Beaver Dam, Larry Soboleski of Madison, Cheryl Prest of Beaver Dam, and Dan (Leigh) Soboleski of Beaver Dam; 1 brother, Leon “Sassy” (Kathy) Soboleski of Beaver Dam; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Soboleski, and his granddaughter Bethany.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude”s Children”s Hospital.
