Reber C. Dillard, age 81, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Holiday Island, Arkansas, died on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, Wisconsin.
There will be a gathering at the home of his step daughter, Cindy Hartt, at 622 W. Maple Ave. in Beaver Dam, WI on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 1:00 PM. There will also be a memorial service in Tulsa, OK on November 19, 2011 with Bishop William Cox officiating.
Reber Carr Dillard was born on May 31, 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Edwin and Gabriella (Carr) Dillard. Besides being a go-getter, he had many titles. He was a pilot in the Air Force during the Korean War and served as an instructor for many in the service. Reber also was an ordained minister. He was a member of the World Wide Church of God and taught Sunday school to children at United Methodist Church in Tulsa and Holiday Island Community Church. Reber was a Thermal Engineer and worked for his brother, Norman”s, construction company. This gave him the opportunity to work at many commercial sites in the United States as well as other countries. In 1990 he was united in marriage with Bonnie Owen in Tulsa. Reber lived in Tulsa for many years and retired in Holiday Island. He just recently moved to Beaver Dam to be closer to some of his wife”s children.
Survivors are his wife, Bonnie of Beaver Dam, WI; step children, Julie (Paul) Astbury of Sherman, CT, Gregory (Alessandra) Nelson of Tampa, FL, Fred Nelson of Beaver Dam, WI, Cindy Hartt of Beaver Dam, WI, and Renee (Rolando) Nelson of Tulsa, OK; 12 step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; brother, Edwin “Norman” Dillard of Tulsa, OK; nieces and nephews, Norma Dillard of Dallas, TX, Pamela (Buddy) Stone, Debbie (Kurt) Kranz, and Jan Spencer all of Tulsa, OK; two great nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Dillard.
