I was so sorry to hear about Barbara's passing. She was a classmate of mine at Beaver Dam High School and she was a very nice girl.

Dear Mrs. Seering, I would like to extend my sympathy to you. Your daughter Shannon and I know one another from my work at the Beaver Dam Senior Center and she mentioned that she had recently lost her father. I share your grief in that my husband also passed away this month, unexpectedly, and I am now alone like you. I hope that your support system contains as many concerned people as mine does to help ease the transition to your lifestyle reorganization. As an interesting coincidence I would like to tell you that my husbands birthdate was May 22, 1943 - almost exactly the same as your husbands, how amazing is that, perhaps they will meet one another on the way to their eternal home. I wish you well in the coming months, from working with older adults I know the stages of grieving are different for everyone and that it sometimes seems like things will never be better. Although that''s not true, better has many definitions and yours and mine will be different now. When people have asked me what they can do I have been trying to think of a way to put them to work and am usually unable to come up with something right away. I do know that eventually I can use their help, so I ask them for a rain check for another day and I haven''t had a no yet. I would like to offer you a rain check for a cup of coffee and chat right in the chair next to my desk. I am in the office daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or usually somewhere in the building and it''s not large so everyone will know where I am. We can compare notes and see how we are doing. I plan to go back to work next week, I do better with a busy, ''to do'' schedule and that will help me along with this new chapter of my life. Please share a day of it with me when your schedule brings you to Beaver Dam, perhaps the day Shannon does her presentation. I would enjoy the opportunity to meet you and offer a personal moment of reflection. Warmest regards and sympathy to your family.
