On Monday, February 10, 2014, Richard A. Wehland of Beaver Dam, surrendered the gift of mortal life and received the gift of eternal life.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive, Beaver Dam WI, with Rev. Mark A. Wenzel officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15th from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Inurnment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam, WI.
Richard was born on April 11, 1941, the son of Melvin and Irene (Husak) Wehland in Milwaukee, WI. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Schmidt on October 9, 1965 in Milwaukee, WI. Richard was a graduate of U.W. Whitewater and also received his Respiratory Therapy training in Phoenix, AZ. In 1977, he moved his family to Beaver Dam where he practiced his skills as an RT in the Beaver Dam area.
Richard was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, where he was very active and served in various ways.
Richard is survived by: his wife Carol of Beaver Dam; his children: Tammy (Romelle) Clipps of Beaver Dam and Paul Wehland of Dusseldorf, Germany; his grandchildren: Jalen and Zenobia; his step-granddaughter Terril; his brother Robert (Janet) Wehland of Nekoosa, WI; his sister-in-law Kathrine (Steven) Disterhaft of Oshkosh; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
