Richard A. Eicksteadt, age 73, of Reeseville, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
The visitation will be at Salem Lutheran Church in Lowell on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Saturday at 11:30 AM with Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Burial will be at Reeseville Cemetery.
Richard Allen Eicksteadt was born on October 2, 1939 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Clarence and Leona (Petrich) Eicksteadt. He was a 1957 graduate of Watertown High School. Richard worked as a foreman for shoe factories throughout Wisconsin. With the changing economy, he continued to be transferred from one factory to the next, retiring from Lakeside Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam in 2002. Richard enjoyed playing card games, especially sheepshead. In his younger years, he had a passion for softball and was a pitcher on city leagues. Richard was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Lowell.
Survivors are his wife, Judy of Reeseville; children, Barb (Phil) McAleer, Brian, Gregg (Michele Adams), and Patrick (Amy) Eicksteadt, all of Watertown; step-children, Patricia Heger of Evansville, Deborah Fry of Theresa, Angela Friese of Watertown, and Sandra Mayfield of Plainfield; 21 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Margie Chingway of Watertown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Linda Sornson of Reeseville, Robert and Angela Schmidt of Watertown, and John and Margaret Schmidt of Reeseville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lawrence; and a sister, Ruthie Chingway.
If desired, memorials may be made in Richard A. Eicksteadt”s name to Salem Lutheran Church or to a charity of one”s choice.
