Richard Gerard Kircher

Richard G. Kircher, age 77, died on Monday, August 17, 2009, at his home in Beaver Dam.

The visitation will be on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Fox Lake from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday at the church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael L. Wild officiating. A time for fellowship will follow at the church then burial will take place at St. Peter”s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Richard Gerard Kircher was born on April 27, 1932 in Bronx, New York to Michael and Caroline (Vogler) Kircher. He was united in marriage with Virginia Forsythe in 1970. She preceded him in death. Richard was then married to Angerina B. Bleifuss in October of 1976. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School in New York, and then graduated from St. Leo College. Richard received his Masters in Theology from Ottawa University. He taught math for 23 years for the Department of Corrections at Oshkosh, Fox Lake, and Waupun Correctional Institutions. Prior to teaching, he was a priest in Florida and Alabama in the 1960”s. Richard enjoyed reading and writing and enjoyed watching baseball and football games. He was a member of Annunciation Parish in Fox Lake.

Survivors are his wife, Angie Kircher, Beaver Dam, son, Michael (Tammy) Kircher, De Pere, stepsons, Robert (Mary Ann) Warren, Beaver Dam, Russell (FiancAC.e, Kathy Schmitt) Warren, Beaver Dam, and Ronald (Nina) Warren, Beaver Dam, grandchildren, Kallie and Noah Kircher, five step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, one step great great grandchild, sisters, Sr. Agnes Kircher, Fond du Lac, and Anna Mae Costello, Melbourne, FL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and seven brothers and sisters.

The family suggests that memorials be made in Richard G. Kircher”s name to Annunciation Catholic Church, 305 W. Green St., Fox Lake, WI, 53933.

Dad called me yesterday to let me know of your dad''s passing. I didn''t know him very well... just from when we were little kids. But my most vivid memory of him was when we were at Patti and Larry''s house for one of our many ''picnics'' out there. The women would all be in the living room knitting, and the men would be in the screened in porch playing cards. Your dad took the time out for all of the little kids and took us for our ''nature walks''. I''m sure that you remember... it was a walk down the gravel road towards the airport. He made it seem so incredibly special... we''d catch grasshoppers and look at gravel. What a kind man he was for making us kids feel so special! He was a very good man with a golden heart for kids. I am so sorry that I can''t be with you this week, but please know that I send my love to you and Tammy... I will light a candle at my house tonight and think of you all on Friday. Mary Bowles
