Richard H. Graff, age 91, of Beaver Dam, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Richard will be at the Murray Funeral Home, 131 East Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam, on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, a prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM. On Friday, November 15, 2013, there will be a visitation at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 S. Spring Street in Beaver Dam, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM; a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael J. Erwin will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Richard was born on March 5, 1922 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Henry and Esther (Linde) Graff. On September 15, 1951, he was united in marriage with Ruth Dittberner in Beaver Dam. Richard farmed in rural Beaver Dam for many years before working at Peachey Brothers Mill in Burnett. He and his wife were also custodians at Hyland Prairie Elementary School for close to twenty years. Richard enjoyed fishing and gardening and he served as a leader for the Hyland Prairie 4H Club. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish and Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council # 1837 in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Graff of Beaver Dam; three children, David (Kathy) Graff of Juneau, Kathy (Steve) Reifsnider of Juneau, and Annette (Steve) Duckett of Beaver Dam; four grandchildren; Jeremy Graff (Heather Avellone), Sarah Sullivan (Reed Luneau, Troy Reifsnider, and Allison Reifsnider (Joe Abbe); two step grandchildren, Jayme Duckett and Stephanie Duckett; his sister, JoAnne (Art) Hammann of Sun Prairie; a sister-in-law, Vivian Karst of Burnett; three brothers-in-law, Russell (Pat) Dittberner of Horicon, Robert (Sandra) Dittberner of Merrimac, and Merlin “Sam” (Nancy) Dittberner of Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemarie (Robert) Born.
