Richard L. Brooke, age 61, died Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home in Beaver Dam after a life-long battle with Becker Muscular Dystrophy. A memorial gathering for Richard will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. Memorial services will follow at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 p.m. John R. Leiting will be the celebrant. Richard was born on June 16, 1957 in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Floyd and Dorothy (nee Berg) Otto. He graduate from JI Case High School in Racine in 1975. On August 6, 1983, he was united in marriage with Cynthia Beth in Racine and they later moved to Beaver Dam in 1992. Richard worked at Green Valley for several years and he also worked as a board operator at WBEV/WXRO for about 10 years. He was a social person and loved to visit with just about anyone. He also volunteered at Green Valley and he loved watching auto racing at the local tracks. Richards is survived by his wife, Cindy Brooke of Beaver Dam; his son, Joseph (Christine) Brooke of Juneau; two brothers, Donald Brooke of New Mexico and Edward Brooke of Beaver Dam, two sisters, June (James) Panasuk of Greenfield and Deb Lingford of Wausau; his “grandpets”; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rose Brooke; and a nephew, Paul Panasuk.
