Gloria left a message on August 21, 2010:
Although I''ve been through the initial shock of the news of your passing, the funeral service, and the burial, there is a disbelief that lingers in my mind and in my hearts. It will be there for a long time, quite possibly forever. My deepest regret is that I didn''t get to know all the facets of you as a person. The pictures I''ve now seen and the other condolences I''ve read have provided glimpses into your other friendships and your service to our country and illustrate what a truly wonderful and caring person you were. My heart aches for one more hug and the sound of your robust voice. May God''s peace be with you!

Mike and Kaye Davenport left a message on August 18, 2010:
King David dressed in sack-cloth and poured ashes on his head and did not eat or drink coming before God for the sake of his child. But the child died and David put off his sack cloth and washed then asked for food. When his servants wondered at his behavior at the death of his child, he said, "My child is in the arms of God. I cannot bring him back to me, but I will go to him someday." So it is with Brett. You can go to him someday and live with him eternally. May God comfort you and give you strength as you make this journey in grief. We love you very much, Mike and Kaye Davenport

Brett was one of my best friends for 20 years. Every time I saw him, it brought light to the day I was having. Countless hours him and I spend talking, remembering and speaking to the future, all with a spark in his eye. I cannot find the words to say how sorry I am for his loss to his family and our friends. Remember him and be happy for the time you did have with him. ~Shawn
