Robert E. Mueller, age 77, of Watertown, was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at his home.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Henry”s Catholic Church in Watertown, WI at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, June 13, 2009, with Fr. Brian Wilk officiating. Family and friends may call to pay their respects, at the church, on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at his home, N1420 Welsh Rd., Watertown, following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his daughter, Anita Hillis, to be given to his favorite charities. Robert was born April 16, 1932 in Wausau, WI, the son of Joseph and Ruth (Gritzmacker) Mueller. Robert graduated from Wausau Sr. High School in 1952. He served in the Army for two years following high school. Robert married Carolyn M. Salzman on June 27, 1959 at Holy Name Church in Wausau. He was employed in Wausau at Marmet Corp. for 14 years then proceeded to work at Wagner Products in Hustisford for four years. He then went to work at Brandt / De La Rue in Watertown for 30 years until his retirement. Robert was one of four men who started the St. Vincent De Paul store in Watertown and was president of the board for four years. He was also a member of the EAA Chapter 897 in Juneau. Robert”s dream was to build his own airplane, which he did accomplish, and stored it in his hanger at Dodge County Airport. He also obtained his private pilot license and spent many earlier days flying around with family and friends. His other joy was spending time with his dog, BaBi.
Survivors include his children, Thad (Karen Thompson), Kim, Paul (Marion), all of Watertown, and Anita (Stu) Hillis of Miles City, MT, five grandchildren, James Jackson, Courtney, Ryan, Meghan Mueller, all of Watertown, and Tiffany (Brennan) Listle of Jacksonville, NC, three great grandchildren, Shyenne Dobbs, Landon Jackson, both of Watertown, and Brennan Listle, Jr. of Jacksonville, NC, a brother, Kenneth (Bev) of Oshkosh, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and his wife, Carolyn.
