Roberta Hastings, age 86, of Neosho, formerly of Wichita, KS, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Aurora Medical Center in Summit.

Visitation for Roberta will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 2:00 PM. Rev. Elaine Gerth will officiate. Burial will be at Hustisford Cemetery.

The former Roberta McCarty was born on July 23, 1923 in Westen Kansas to the late Robert H. and Delsie E. (nee Callahan) McCarty. On December 5, 1943, she was united in marriage with Aubrey Hastings in Wichita, Kansas. Roberta liked to dance, listen to music, and read books. She was a strong-willed woman who loved her family. She was a great cook who doted on her daughters and grandchildren and took care of her husband for 67 years.

Roberta is survived by her husband, Aubrey Hastings of Neosho; three daughters, Lynda Medlock of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jennifer (Jess) Leitzke of Neosho, and Karen (Paul) Leisz of Northport, Florida; four grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Cook of Wichita, Kansas, Aubree Ann Bowen of California, Selena Leitzke and Jared Leitzke, both of Neosho; her sister, Harriett Downey of Wichita, Kansas, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Michael Medlock; and her other brothers and sisters.
