Ronald Lauersdorf, Sr., age 64, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, June 17, 2011 at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison.
Visitation for Ronald will be at St. Stephen”s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 West Street in Beaver Dam, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at church on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 AM. Rev. Mark T. Wendland will officiate. Burial will be at Lowell Cemetery where the Lowell VFW Post #9392 will provide military honors.
Ronald was born on July 4, 1946 in Columbus, Wisconsin to Charles and Marian (Wilson) Lauersdorf. He graduated from Juneau High School in 1964. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. Ron was proud of his military service and was a member of the Lowell VFW Post #9392 where he was active in the funeral honor guard. He also volunteered his time at the VA Hospital in Madison. Ron worked at Advanced Products in Beaver Dam for over 20 years before his health forced him to stop working. He was very mechanical and enjoyed troubleshooting; he could fix almost anything. His saying was “Why do it manually if you can have a machine do it.” Ron enjoyed camping and gardening and was interested in both aviation and military vehicles. He was a member of St. Stephen”s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include his four children, Ronald (Kim) Lauersforf, Jr. of Lowell, Rachel (John) Snyder of Little Falls, MN, Kristine Lauersdorf of Lowell, and Michael Lauersdorf of Lowell; two grandchildren, Crystal and Ashley; his mother, Marian Lauersdorf of Lowell; his brother, Douglas (Patricia) Lauersdorf of Burnett; two nieces, Aimee (Scott) Smith of Burnett and Alyssa Lauersdorf of Burnett; a great niece, Makayla; a special friend, Marilyn Priebusch of Beaver Dam; the mother of his children, Patricia Lauersdorf of Lowell; his step son, Jason (Sheila) Winter of Waupun; other relatives and friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Charles in 2004.
