Ronald “Buzz” Roedl, age 77, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his home in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Buzz will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 South Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 12:50 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at church on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 PM. Fr. Michael Erwin will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Ronald R. Roedl was born on March 20, 1935 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Arlea and Marie (Belling) Roedl. After graduating from Beaver Dam High School in 1953, he was drafted into the United States Army and served from 1957 to 1959. On February 2, 1963, he was united in marriage with Susan Hammer in Beaver Dam. Buzz worked at AA Roedl Excavating in Beaver Dam and eventually became one of the third generation to own and operate the business. The two hobbies that he enjoyed were woodworking and scenic photography.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Roedl of Beaver Dam; three children, Anthony (Tricia) Roedl of Beaver Dam, Sara (Charles Statman) Hammer of San Jose, CA, and Kate (Daniel Dittberner) Roedl of Oak Creek; five grandchildren, Taylor, Saul, Jake, Anita, and Jessica; his brother, Brian (Loraine) Roedl, his sister-in-law, Sylvia Roedl; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Buzz was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Roedl; and a sister, Nancy Hurst.
If desired, memorials may be made in Ronald “Buzz” Roedl”s name to the St. Katharine Drexel Band, 503 South Spring St, Beaver Dam, WI 53916.
