Rose A. Gogert, age 75, of Mayville, died on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial gathering will be at First United Church of Christ in Reeseville on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow at the church on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be a t Reeseville Cemetery.
Rose Ann Plato was born on August 28, 1936 in Reeseville to Walter and Meta (Neitzel) Plato. She was a graduate from Dodgeland High School. On April 13, 1957 she was united in marriage with Warren Lewis Gogert in Reeseville. Rose worked as a seasonal in area canning companies for 15 years. She was employed full time from 1969 to 1982 for California Canners and Growers in Lomira. Rose also worked for American Feed and Livestock Company in Iron Ridge until ill health forced her retirement. She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Reeseville. Rose loved to bake and sew. She also loved animals and birds, especially cardinals. Mostly, Rose looked forward to her shopping trips and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include her children; Brian (Joyce) Gogert of Mayville, Roxanne (Frank) Owens of Horicon, Randy Gogert of Horicon, and Michael Gogert of Mayville, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a sister, Helen Pasbrig of Horicon, sister-in-law, Marion Plato of Wautoma, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Warren on March 20, 1995, an infant son, a daughter-in-law, Judy Schellpfeffer, granddaughters, Tonya Brandenstein and Emily Gogert, great granddaughter, Sydney Brandenstein, brother, Raymond Plato, and brother-in-law, Ralph Pasbrig.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Rose A. Gogert”s name to First United Church of Christ in Reeseville or to Hillside Hospice / Homecare.
