Roy R. Schulz, 88 years old, of Horicon, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2016 at Agrace Hospice in Madison.A funeral service for Roy will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon, with Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation will also be held on Monday, March 21st from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.Roy Rudolf Schulz was born on March 24, 1927 to Rudolf H. & Hattie (Melchert) Schulz in Horicon. He was graduate of Horicon High School in 1945 and continued his education at Carroll College in Waukesha. Roy was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Bauer on September 26, 1953 in Beaver Dam, WI. He was employed at John Deere Horicon Works in Horicon for 36 years. Roy’s favorite way to spend time was with his family. He enjoyed playing cards with the bridge club, woodworking, watching the Packers, gardening, as well as traveling throughout the U.S. with his wife, Dorothy. He was an active member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon.Roy is survived by: his wife Dorothy of Horicon; his children- Randy Schulz of California & Ellen (Randy) Kreger of Onalaska, WI; his in-laws – Eugene (Marion) Bauer of Juneau; his grandchildren- Carly (fiancé Eric Sanft) Kreger & Jesse Kreger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by: his parents and his sisters & brothers-in-laws – Ruth (Milton) Eberle & Bernice (Robert) Marschke. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon.
