Roy R. Rohn, age 71, of Beaver Dam, died on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
The memorial gathering will be at Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The memorial service will follow on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Phillip Heyer officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #146 following the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo, Wisconsin.
Roy Richard Rohn was born on April 8, 1940 in Mayville Wisconsin. On December 11, 1975 he was united in marriage with Carol Viola at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Roy had a love for music and could often be seen at the Vineyard in Beaver Dam, dressed in black, playing Johnny Cash songs. He was talented at playing the guitar, violin and even the harmonica. Roy even had his own CD made. He was also a lifetime member of the International Magicians Society. Roy worked for 38 years as a Repair Mechanic at Maysteel, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Roy fought a courageous fight against stomach cancer. He was a loving husband and a loving father.
He is survived by his wife, Carol and daughter, Lisa, both of Beaver dam, brothers and sisters, Richard (Jocelyn) Rohn, Dan Rohn, Wayne Rohn, Jodie Dille, Lucy Klokow, Louanne Rohn, Crystal Rohn and Bonnie Rohn, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Frances Rohn, a brother, Victor Rohn, and a sister, Sheila Rohn.
