Russell R. Malak, age 54 of Beaver Dam, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at his home.
The gathering will be at Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. There will be a burial at St. Patrick”s Cemetery in Beaver Dam on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Deacon Cody officiating.
Russell Robert Malak was born on February 21, 1957 in Beaver Dam to Norbert and Edith (Boyd) Malak. He was raised in the Beaver Dam area and after high school, he became a prison guard at Dodge Corrections in Waupun. Russell retired in March of this year. He was a very compassionate and caring man. He had a special way of making the world a better place. Russell was always giving as much as he could to charities throughout Dodge County, especially the Humane Society. His selfless efforts helped many animals. He will be deeply missed by his cat, Kinko.
Survivors are his father, Norbert (Jeanne) Malak of Beaver Dam, brothers, Mark Malak of Austin, TX, William Malak of Fort Atkinson, and Christopher Malak of Beaver Dam, nephew, Joel (Jenny) Malak of Madison, nieces, Jill (Jim) Bakken of Mazomanie, and Janelle Malak of Brooklyn, NY, a great niece, Adeline Ruth Bakken, step sister, Becky (Dan) Wheeler of Beaver Dam, step brother, Paul (Josie) Hartel of Waupun, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith in 1995 and a step sister, Pam Hartel.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Russell Malak”s name to the Dodge County Humane Society or to St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
