Ruth M. Imrie

Ruth M. Imrie, age 87, of Pewaukee and formerly of Beaver Dam, died Monday, December 20, 2010 at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee.

Visitation for Ruth will be at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, N36 W24130 Pewaukee Road, in Pewaukee on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at church on Tuesday, beginning at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Tom Wink will officiate. Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Watertown.

Ruth was born on May 27, 1923 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ernst and Ida Fuelster. She married Walter F. Voigt on July 19, 1958. She married James A. Imrie on March 28, 1964. Ruth lived in Milwaukee before moving to Beaver Dam in 1958. While living in Milwaukee, she worked at Johnson Service Company for 16 years. After moving to Beaver Dam, Ruth worked for Hoefs Printing & Office Supply for seven years. In 1968, she and her husband purchased the Grand View Motel in Beaver Dam and operated it for 12 years; they then owned and operated the Imrie Equipment Rental business and Cable Laying business until their retirement in 1985. Ruth was an avid bowler in both Milwaukee and Beaver Dam. In Beaver Dam, she was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and, since 2008, was attending services at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Pewaukee.

Survivors include her son, James E. (Sandra) Imrie of Hubertus; a step-son, George (Sherry) Imrie of Goldsboro, NC; three step-daughters, Jeanne (James) Radke of Randolph, Bessie (Gordon) Beske of Beaver Dam, and Martha (Mark) McClees of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Her parents, a brother, Ralph, and her first and second husbands preceded Ruth in death.

If desired, memorials may be made in Ruth M. Imrie”s name to the charity of one”s choice.

I am sorry to hear about Ruth''s passing. You all have my heartfelt sympathy. I remember Ruth as a good neighbor and friend and she welcomed us into her home when we stopped to visit years later when she and Jim lived in Beaver Dam.
