Ruth M. Zastrow, of Theresa, age 81 passed away on March 14, 2018 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Juneau.A funeral service for Ruth will take place on Sunday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) in Tn. Theresa with the Rev. Douglas Zahner officiating. A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 17 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville and again on Sunday, March 18 from 12 noon until the time of the funeral at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Tn. Theresa. Ruth was born the daughter of Mathew and Selma (Wegner) Loehrke on June 20, 1936 in Tn. Theresa. She was a graduate of Mayville High School and then MATC where she graduated with her degree in nursing. Ruth was united in marriage to Frederick A. Zastrow on September 7, 1957 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Tn. Theresa. She was a nurse for over 30 years working for both the Lutheran Hospital and Beaver Dam Hospital. She was a faithful lifetime member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church) and served her church on the altar guild and ladies aid for over 40 years. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed ceramics and making wine with her family. Ruth loved to sit outside her home and enjoy being outdoors by her flowers. She loved playing sheepshead on Sunday evenings and also enjoyed time spent with the Lakeview Gang. Most important to her was her family and the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.Ruth is survived by her children- Dan (Nancy) Zastrow of LeRoy, Mark (Wendy) Zastrow of Mayville, and Linda (Terry) Herman of Theresa. Her grandchildren- Adam (Kristine Gruetzmacher) Zastrow, Joshua (Fiancé Melissa Struve) Zastrow, Nathan Zastrow, Holly Zastrow, Heather (Jeremy) Huf, Heidi (Jamie) Meyer, Katrina (Fiancé Clive Hacker) Herman, Samantha Herman, and Mallory Herman. 8 great grandchildren- Cash, Patrick, Devin, Arsyn, Marley, Te’najah, Tre’shon, and Rutledge. Her brothers- Gordon (Delores) Loehrke of Theresa and Kenneth (Valerie) Loehrke of Waupun. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, nephew David Zastrow, brother Maynard Loehrke, sister and brother in law Elvira and Walter Zastrow.
