Sandra K. Hanefeld, 64, of Burnett passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at UW-Hospital in Madison with her family by her side. A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Burnett Central Cemetery in Burnett. Sandra was born the daughter of Floyd and Bernice (Lienke) Hemling on November 18, 1953 in Columbus. She was a graduate of Fall River High School and MATC with a degree in court reporting. Sandy was married to Donald “Chester” Hanefeld on May 14, 1977 in Horicon. Sandy was a selfless, generous, and independent woman who always had a spring in her step, always ready to “get at it” and get the job done. She was considered a mom to many people and was one heck of a cook, she never turned anyone away from a spot at the kitchen table. Sandy dedicated her life to her kids and family. Sandy is survived by her husband, Chester of Burnett; her children: Nick (Heather) Hanefeld of Beaver Dam, Kaylin (Brian) Moon of Fond du Lac, and Kristin (Jeff) Suzuki of Singapore; her mother, Bernice Hemling of Fall River; her sisters: Bev Wiseman of Cottage Grove, Denise (Dale) Schilling of Columbus, Colleen Miller of Fall River, Diane (Jeff) Miller of Fall River, and Dawn (Charles) LeDuff of Sun Prairie; her grandchildren: Hunter (Tiffany), Dylan, and Sara; her great-grandchild: Kylie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd, and infant sister, Debra.
