Schelia Hughes, age 77 of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Hillside Manor.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.
Schelia was born on March 31, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN to Gordon and Jeanne (Reynolds) Patterson and, later, moved to California with her family. On September 3, 1964, she was united in marriage with Earl K. Hughes in North Redondo Beach, California. Schelia held many jobs throughout her life but the most enjoyable was the last; she was a Park Ranger at Ledge Park in Horicon. She was a story teller throughout her life and she enjoyed socializing with the campers at the park and telling them of her family”s life adventures. Schelia had many interests including traveling, camping, riding motorcycle, animals, fishing, making afghans, crafting, and especially going to the casino.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Hughes of Beaver Dam; six children, Gordon (Melinda) Hughes of Juneau, Valery (Charles) Klossner of Beaver Dam, Ronnie (Maryann) Hughes of Venice, FL, Dave Hughes of Reedsburg, Fred (Carolyn) Hughes of Georgia, and Mike Hughes of California; six grandchildren, Samantha Klossner, Kirk (Brittany) Klossner, Aly Haslerud, Chet Haslerud, Rebecca Hughes, and Brandon Hughes; two great grandchildren, Colten Cowald and Arianna Klossner; her sister, Patty Parker; special friends, Marie and Robert Gernetzke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Schelia was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Don Hughes, and her daughter, Mary Hughes.
