Shawn “Spawny” Schreiner, age 34, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at his home in Beaver Dam.
Friends and family may call at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at the funeral home, beginning at 8:00 PM. Rev. Mark Swanson will officiate. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam at a later date.
Shawn Thomas Schreiner was born on June 10, 1973 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Michael and Barbara (Haessly) Schreiner. On May 6, 2000, he was united in marriage with Melissa Rogers at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam. After high school, Shawn attended Moraine Park Technical College and studied Architectural Design; through this schooling, his love for building flourished. Shawn had the ability to visualize the finished product as the project was being designed. He loved to build new structures or take an existing structure and improve it. As a carpenter, Shawn worked on many homes in the Beaver Dam area. Shawn also enjoyed camping and sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Shawn loved his two daughters and treasured the joy they brought to his life.
Survivors include his wife, Melissa Schreiner of Beaver Dam, two daughters, Mercedes and Savannah Schreiner, his mother, Barb (Hamer) Schreiner-Campbell of Beaver Dam, his sister, Amber (Shannon) Schmidt of Beaver Dam, his grandmother, Marge Schreiner of Wausau, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and David Breyer of Fox Lake, two sisters-in-law, Carleen (Ben) Van Buren of Waupun and Sarah Rogers (Jason Hull) of Beaver Dam, three nephews, Alex and Braiden Schmidt and Chase Kullas, other relatives and friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Michael Schreiner and his grandparents, Jerome and Marie Haessly and Frank Schreiner.
