Shirley L. Kohl, 75, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Horicon went to meet her Savior on Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon with the Rev. Daniel Seehafer officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Township of Trenton, WI.
Shirley Lou was born the daughter of Ervin and Elsie (Schmeling) Borchert on February 8, 1938 in Columbus. She was a 1956 graduate of Columbus High School. Shirley was married to Delmar Kohl on September 12, 1959 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Columbus.
Shirley was an active and faithful member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Horicon. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 146. She was a volunteer with the Beaver Dam Unified School District in the PALS program at Jefferson Elementary. Shirley was also a volunteer with Sylvan Crossings, the American Red Cross and Bethesda Fair.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Delmar of Beaver Dam; her children: Timothy Kohl of Beaver Dam and Deleen (Tyler) Nehls of Kenosha; two grandchildren: Tatum and Austin Nehls; her sister, Marge (Walter) Schoenherr of Waterloo; her brother-in-law, Charles Lischka of Columbus; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joann Lischka.
