Steven John Rochwite

July 7, 1958 - April 25, 2014

Steven John Rochwite, age 55, of Beaver Dam passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at his home following ill health.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 12 o”clock noon at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 10th from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. A luncheon will be served at the funeral home following the service.

Steven was born the son of Robert and Jeanne (Fowler) Rochwite on July 7, 1958 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1976 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Steve spent his life working in masonry and construction. He had a great love of nature and the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Through the years, Steve was actively involved in Wings Over Wisconsin and participated in various lake improvement projects. Steve also enjoyed playing in Euchre tournaments at Pumpkin Center and Leipsic Tavern.

He is survived by his son John Rochwite of Beaver Dam; his brother Jim (Donna) Rochwite of Beaver Dam; a niece Angela (Colin) Biel of Beaver Dam and their children: Madeline, Wesley, and Emily Biel; his close friend Eric Hein of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by his former wife Denise (Hepp) Rochwite and his aunts: Judy George and Lorraine Fowler, as well as, numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his uncle Harold Bud Fowler, and his grandparents John and Verona Rochwite and Harold and Ardis Fowler.

Special thanks to his extended family of the Leipsic community for their kindness and friendship shown to Steve over the years. It was greatly appreciated by Steve and his family.

I grew up with Steve there are so many memories . I remember alot of kids gathering in his neighborhood off Oneida street. We played Grey Wolf and Tin Can alley It was crazy fun. I think of those times often... Peggy Bussie (Gerstner)

Steve, I am so sad to hear you are gone. I remember our times from high school. Out cruising in the Camero and hitting all the parties. I remember all the races we did with you riding shotgun. The most memorable night was when you, me, Peggy Gerstner (Bussie) and Jean "Bean" Kuhn where cruising the Cam. We had stopped to party and then took off to run a quarter mile. It was a road I didn''t know and we ended up going off into the ditch and all about died! The Cam was stuck into the bank of the ditch. We ended up lifting the front end just enough for Peg to back it out. It was a wild time with you back then. I will remember you as a best friend and one I could always count on. Both Peggy and I will miss you. Rest well my friend.

Steve you have always held a special place in my heart. Many fun times when we were little! Haven''t seen you forever, but I miss you already! Rest in peace. Rick and I send our thoughts and prayers to Steve''s family.
