Teresa K. Hoch, age 88, of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Friends may call at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Thursday, June 8, 2006 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM. On Friday, June 9, 2006, friends may call at The Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. At 10:30 AM, a closing service will be held followed by a procession to church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 South Spring Street. Fr. Carlos Florez will officiate. Burial will be at St. Peter”s Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
The former Teresa Katharine Maier was born on January 7, 1918 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Theresa (Geissinger) Maier. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School and on November 23, 1939, Teresa was united in marriage with Arnold Hoch at St. Peter”s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. He preceded Teresa in death on March 6, 2006. She worked at the St. Vincent DePaul Store and later volunteered there. She also volunteered at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital and for the Meals-on-Wheels. Teresa was an avid reader and volunteered to read to the children at Lincoln Elementary School. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include four children, Charles (Mary Jane) Hoch of Charlotte, NC, Mary Beth (Jeff) Hughes of Waukesha, Joseph (Sally) Hoch of Warrenton, Virginia and Geriann (Isaac) Pentinmaki of Deerfield; six grandchildren, Mark (Sue) Hughes of Waukesha, John (Nancy) Hoch Hoboken, New Jersey, Michael (Tina) Hughes of Mayville, Eric (Joan) Hoch of Ankeny, Iowa, Ben (Lesley) Hoch of Raleigh, North Carolina and Sam Pentinmaki of Deerfield; five great grandchildren; a brother, Reynold Maier of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Phyllis (Lloyd) Schutte of Brookfield and Esther Budde of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and an infant daughter, a brother, Frank Maier, and a sister, Isabelle Budde.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Teresa K. Hoch”s name to The St. Vincent DePaul Society or the St. Katharine Drexel School
