Thomas A. Baird, age 81, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, September 10, 2011.

Visitation for Tom will be at the Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Rev. Mark Wenzel will officiate. Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in the Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Thomas Alfred Baird was born on May 9, 1930 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Thomas and Lena (Koehn) Baird. On June 20, 1953, he was united in marriage with Erline Boldt. Tom worked for Starkweather Lumber, Luken Lumber, and Kirsh Foundry. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam where he was an usher for 29 years and he unlocked the church doors and served as a greeter for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Erline Baird of Beaver Dam; one daughter, Deborah Baird of Milwaukee; one son, Jeff (Sandy) Baird of Beaver Dam; one sister-in-law, Mildred Tijerina of Beaver Dam; a niece, Darlene (Dennis) Schroedl of DeForest; a nephew, Fred (Diane) Wheeler of Tomahawk; other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Tobin and Dorothy Wheeler; two brothers, Myron Baird and Henry Baird; and two nephews, Ronald Wheeler and Kenneth Wheeler.

If desired, memorials may be made in Thomas A. Baird”s name to Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive, in Beaver Dam.
