Todd J. Kempf, age, of 59, passed away on September 7, 2018, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, surrounded by family and friends, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.A funeral service for Todd will take place Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with the Rev. Sarah Gillespie and Rev. Randy Shaub officiating. A visitation will take place from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, September 14 at St. Paul Lutheran Church and again on Saturday, September 15 from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the Mayville American Legion Post #69 in Mayville.Todd was born the son of Laurence and Persida (Wagner) Kempf on November 24, 1958 in Beaver Dam. He was a 1976 graduate of Mayville High School. He had worked in construction and finished his career as a machinist. He was united in marriage to Jill Bowman on October 29, 1982, in Beaver Dam. In his spare time Todd enjoyed the outdoors while hunting, fishing, and gardening. Using his passions and gifts he served on the board for Beaver Dam Community Gardens in its early stages. Faith was also important to Todd and he taught Sunday school for many years in Randolph and Beaver Dam. Todd cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, instilling his love for sports, outdoors, music and God. Todd is survived by his wife- Jill. His children- Natalie (Gerardo) Romero of Long Island, NY. and Colten (Renee Ruegsegger) Kempf of Fond du Lac. His 2 granddaughters- Naomi and Josephine. His siblings- Dave (Bonnie) Kempf of Mayville, Randy (Cindy) Kempf of Butler, Dan (Nancy) Kempf of Roselle, IL., Nancy (Greg) Yunger of Bellville, Tom Kempf of Mayville, Sam (Annette) Kempf of Horicon, Jane (Francis Farrell) Kempf of Sun Prairie, and Max (Maureen) Kempf of Middletown, DE. His in Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, David (Linda) Bowman and Joan Tilley. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Jack and Dorothy Bowman. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed in memory of Todd to Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI.Special thanks to the staff and doctors at UW Madison Hospital, especially Dr. Baskaya, Nurse Practitioner, Letty Geanon, and the Neurosurgery team and staff for giving Todd’s family and friends love and support and precious time with him. The family would like to thank Todd’s caregiver, Alexis Colehour and would also like to thank Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg for their amazing care and support shown to Todd and his family through his battle.
