Victor A. Franke, age 93, of Horicon, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Monday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Mike Petrie officiating. Burial will be at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon with military honors provided by the Horicon American Legion Post #157.
Victor Armand Franke was born on February 12, 1919 in Theresa, Wisconsin to Arnold C. and Mabel (Fink) Franke. On April 19, 1944 he was united in marriage with Jeanette D. Koll in Theresa. Victor was a WWII Veteran and was a lifetime member of the Horicon American Legion. He was a tool and die maker at John Deere and retired in the 1970”s after 34 years. Victor also was a business man in Horicon for 50 years, operating Vic”s T.V. He was past president of the John Deere Spitfires and was on the Community Cable Commissions for many years. Victor was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Parish.
Survivors are his children, Kathleen (James L.) Thomas of Berlin, and Jerry (Lynn) Franke of Racine; grandsons, Nathan Franke and Michael Franke; sisters and brother, Marcella Reabe of Hartford, Gladys Heintz of Mayville, Mildred (Lawrence “Digger”) DeGroot of Hartford, and Vernon (Jean) Franke of Juneau; former sister-in-law, Katherine L. Franke of Horicon, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanette in 2006; his sisters and brother, Anita Thrun, Eldine Roll, Delores Weber, and Vilas Franke.
If desired, memorials may be made in Victor A. Franke”s name to the Horicon American Legion Post #157 or Sacred Heart Catholic Parish.
