Violet Ann Spittel, 86 years old, of Horicon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, November 11, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, with the Rev. Father Mike Petrie celebrating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16th from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish. Burial will take place at St. Malachy Catholic Cemetery in Horicon.Violet was born on March 16, 1930 to Ervin and Isabella (Weidig) Bischoff in Iron Ridge, WI. She was united in marriage to Leslie C. Spittel on August 21, 1948 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Horicon.Violet was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon. She enjoyed writing poems, doing puzzle books, refinishing furniture, and watching the birds and squirrels. Violet was a dedicated mother and grandmother.Violet is survived by her children: Carol Thomas of Horicon, Lenny Spittel of Horicon, Judy (Ken) Patenaude of Horicon, and Todd (Kim) Spittel of Horicon; her brother Irving “Bud” Bischoff of Horicon; 15 grandchildren- Heather (Steve) Margelofsky, Becky (Nathan) Hodgson, Jeremy (Kandi) Thomas, Shelly Reinwald, Stephanie (Rick) Eichorst, Ryan Billington, Ashley Billington, Brittany Billington, Chad Spittel, Jess Frederiksen, Tracy Frederiksen, Cory Frederiksen , Mikey Frederiksen, Andy Frederiksen , and Troy Frederiksen; 11 great grandchildren- Brandon Thomas, Thomas Reinwald, Kristen Margelofsky, Allie Spittel, Travis Margelofsky, Samantha Eichorst, Cali Spittel, Alyssa Eichorst, Bridget Thomas, Cora Hodgson, and Kaleb Hodgson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Violet is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Leslie in 1997, her daughter Linda Frederiksen, her sister Grace, and her brother Donald.
