Virginia “Polly” Erdman, age 87 formerly of Horicon died on Saturday July 13, 2013 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Polly will be held at the Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. The service will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon with Chaplain Dennis Richards officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery following the service.
Polly was born October 6, 1925 in Theresa to Herbert and Orintha (Neitzel) Bartelt. She married Glen Erdman in Horicon on July 19, 1947 at the Presbyterian Church. Polly is a graduate of the Mayville High School. During WWII, she traveled the United States selling War Bonds for 3 years. She worked at John Deere Horicon Works for over 16 years. She was a volunteer at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Gift Shop and served as the manager of the shop for many years. She was also an active member of the Partners of Beaver Dam Community Hospital for many years.
Virginia “Polly” Erdman is survived by many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on May 9, 1983, two brothers, Earl and Norman Bartelt, and her sister, Elaine Erdman.
Memorials to the Partners of Beaver Dam Community Hospital are suggested.
The family of Polly would like to thank the caregivers at Hillside Manor and Hillside Hospice for their care and love. Special thanks to Margaret Breuer a volunteer from the Hillside Hospice for her kind words and time she spent with Polly.
