Waldemar ‘Wally’ J. Bilgrien, age 87, of Iron Ridge, WI passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at St. St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge, WI, with Rev. Larry Mose officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, July 17 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Iron Ridge,WI Burial will be at the St. Matthew Cemetery in Iron Ridge, WI. Wally was born June 25, 1928 in Iron Ridge, WI the son of Harry and Viola (Ringle) Bilgrien. He was a graduate of Mayville High School. Wally was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict serving in Germany. He was united in marriage to Marlene Doubleday on January 16, 1954 in Iron Ridge, WI. Wally together with his wife owned and operated the Bilgrien’s Lanes in Iron Ridge, WI.Wally was a lifetime member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge, WI. He was also a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69. Wally was also a member of the Iron Ridge Fire Department since 1953. He helped with the Iron Ridge Fireman’s picnic for over 30 years selling pull tabs and tending bar. Wally was a member of the Dodge Co. Tavern League and the Bowling Proprietor’s Association. He was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers, and the Badgers. Survivors include; his 3 daughters, Diane (Dan) Galbraith of Beverly Hills, FL, Annette Sauter of Monroe, WI and Lisa Bilgrien of Wauconda, IL. His grandchildren; Nicole (John) Bartelt, Karen (Jesus) Medina, Tim (Jen) Aumann, Marie Galbraith, Nicholas Galbraith and Daniel Galbraith, 7 great grandchildren, His 2 brothers; Jerome Bilgrien of Hustisford and Don (Jerelyn) Bilgrien of Iron Ridge. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marlene in 2011, and son Mark in 2008.
