Wilfred “Willie” Holbach, age 88, of Burnett, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, surrounded by his family.
A visitation for Willie will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Horicon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday, at the church. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Wilfred Frank Holbach was born on March 1, 1920, in the Town of Chester, to Peter and Rose (Schreiner) Holbach. On July 19, 1947, he was united in marriage with Ida Huggler, in Waupun. Willie worked for Monarch Range in Beaver Dam until 1952. He then operated a dairy farm for the next 20 years. Willie went to work as a custodian at Horicon High School, followed by custodial work for St. Malachy”s Catholic Church until his retirement. In his later years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed being a grandpa. Willie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Horicon.
Willie is survived by his wife, Ida Holbach, Burnett, his children, Paul Holbach, Burnett, Nancy (Jerome) Fehring, Hartford, and Maribeth (Lee) Bruni, Juneau, his grandchildren, David Fehring, Corvallis, Oregon, Denise (Tom) Zuern, Hartford, and Shelly, Eric, and Kristy Bruni, all of Juneau, and his great grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Zuern, both of Hartford. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Henry (Delores) Holbach, Waupun, Rosella Frey, Roscoe, Illinois, Lauretta Peters, Horicon, Melvin (Mildred) Holbach, Waupun, Richard (Agnes) Holbach, Ripley, Tennessee, and Virginia (Eugene) Rake, Columbus, his sister-in-law, Jean Holbach, Dunnellon, Florida, a brother-in-law, Alvin Huggler, Jacksonville, North Carolina, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Willie was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Brett Bruni, his parents, Peter and Rose, a sister, Florence Kovalaske, a brother, Edward Holbach, and other in-laws.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Willie”s name to a charity of one”s choice.
