Willard A. Paul, age 91, of Beaver Dam, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Charleston House in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Willard will be at Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive in Beaver Dam, on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will be at church on Sunday at 4:00 PM with Pastor Mark Wenzel officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin where the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146 will conduct military honors.
Willard Alfred Paul was born on August 8, 1918 in the Town of Scott, Columbia County, Wisconsin, son of the late Robert and Selma (Born) Paul. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in Germany. On June 8, 1947, he was united in marriage with Dorothy Lindert in Reeseville, Wisconsin. Willard was a Dodge County Traffic Patrolman for 26 years, retiring in February 1981. After retirement, he managed apartment buildings on Homestead Road for many years. Willard moved to the Charleston House assisted living apartments in January 2008. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Willard will be sadly missed and mourned by his children, Marlis (Russel) Schmidt of Columbus and Michael (Debbie) Paul of Fort Atkinson; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) Brown, Tammy (Robin) Lins, Christopher (Sharon) Paul, and Travis Paul (fiancAC.e, Katie Silberhorn); seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Joeseph, Alexis, Allison, Benjamin, Desirae, and Kortnea; a great great grandson, Tristian; his sister, Gladys Nehring; his sister-in-law, Muriel Nehring; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Willard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on April 4, 2002; his brothers and sisters, Edna Lambrecht, Carl, Alvin, Esther Dinkel, Leona Parry, Mabel Johnson, Marion Lidtke, Delia Williams, Lydia Phelps, Merwyn, and Marvin.
If desired, memorials may be made in Willard A. Paul”s name to Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Hillcrest Drive in Beaver Dam, or The Charleston House, 104 Fakes Court in Beaver Dam.
