Willis T. Sage, Sr., age 86, formerly of Horicon, died on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at the Golden Living Center Chapel, 410 Roedl Court in Beaver Dam, on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will be at Highland Memory Gardens at a later date.
Willis T. Sage was born on May 8, 1923 in Augusta, Wisconsin to James and Ethel (Tallman) Sage. On August 14, 1948, he was united in marriage with Helen Slavik in Milwaukee. Willis proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed for many years as a mill worker for Bleifuss Feed and Supply in Horicon. In retirement, he mowed lawn at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon. Willis enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Loss-Philipsky VFW Post #8057 in Horicon.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Sage of Beaver Dam, formerly of Horicon; eight children, Sandra Dutton of Rhinelander, Barbara (Terrence) Goetsch of Horicon, Debra (James) Johnson of Evening Shade, AR, Patricia (Joseph) Wagner of Horicon, Willis (Marcey) Sage, Jr. of Beaver Dam, Laura (Maurice) Mack of Beaver Dam, Louis (Judy) Sage of Horicon, and James (Denise) Sage of Ash Flat, AR; 26 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Marion Wallace of Maplewood, MN and Esther Roeder of Milwaukee, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Johanna Sage and Linda Schock; five brothers, Gilbert, Donald, Orville, Norman and Charles, and an infant sister.
The family suggests that memorials be made in Willis T. Sage”s name to the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society.
